JANAM

ASTITVA

Astitva signifies the origin of freedom and peace. The piece is inspired by Kashi, also known as Varanasi or Banaras, a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. This is a city rich with culture, history and stories.

Kashi is known to have 84 Ghats in the city and each Ghat holding cultural and historical significance. Some of these known for their holiness and purity, some used to attain moksha, some used for social gatherings while some admired for their architectural beauty.

To express our love behind the art of the city, we’ve layered our denim with the beautiful Banarasi brocade fabric to display the 84 historical Ghats on the piece ‘Astitva’.

GENESIS

Genesis signifies the origin of existence. The piece is inspired by the biblical tale of the garden of eden. The garden of eden is mentioned as a paradise and the original home of humanity and the first humans.

The garden was described to be filled with beautiful flora and fauna; with lush vegetables, various animals living in harmony and the tree of life that symbolized eternal life and immortality.

In an attempt to resemble the beauty of the garden and a symbol of eternality, we have displayed the flora through designing a rich floral print on our pair of denims, creating the piece of ‘Genesis’.

WUJUD

Wujud signifies the origin of civilisation and livelihood. The piece is inspired by Egypt and the birth of the Egyptian civilisation, emerging along the banks of river nile, a pinnacle of beginnings.
Egypt, when formed was ruled by the divine Pharoahs who were believed to be the intermediaries between humans and gods. A place that is filled with a rich and sophisticated culture since the time of its origin, reflects divinity and has left behind an everlasting legacy of art, culture and architecture.

As means of expressing our respect for this legacy, we’ve displayed the heart of the civilisation; Nile, on our pair of denims. It is with great love and regard, that we formed this embroided piece of ‘Wujud’.

RAAS

‘Raas is the crowning jewel of our collection, Janam, a piece that narrates the timeless tale of Dwarka with grace and artistry. Inspired by the city’s divine journey, Raas captures the emotions, devotion, and destiny that defined Dwarka’s legacy.

The design is adorned with wavy Kantha embroidery, flowing like the tides that once embraced the golden city. Each wave tells a story through its colors:
Red threads embody Shri Krishna’s profound love for his people, a bond of eternal warmth and compassion.
White threads symbolize the unwavering devotion of Dwarka’s inhabitants toward Shri Krishna, a beacon of purity and faith.
Grey threads represent the somber curse that foretold Dwarka’s fall, a poignant reminder of the inevitability of destiny.

Raas is more than a piece of denim; it is a harmonious blend of emotion and craftsmanship, reflecting the beauty of creation and the inevitability of closure. With its intricate details and rich symbolism, Raas becomes a statement of timeless elegance and meaningful storytelling.
