Artist's Note

While making this piece I kept thinking about how a garment could feel like an invitation. I wanted it to welcome, not just impress. My mind wandered to architecture and I kept coming back to the image of a door.

A door is simple, but it holds meaning. It marks a threshold. It says come in. That felt like the right way to imagine the gates of heaven.

I chose kantha embroidery to bring this idea alive because it carries a quiet honesty. It allows the design to stay subtle and minimal, yet it still has weight. Every stitch is placed with intention, like steps toward something greater. In the end the shirt became more than fabric and thread.

It became a reminder that heaven is not far away. Sometimes it is as close as the door in front of you.

Care

Each NOVI piece is a work of art, crafted with intention, layered in meaning, and made to last. To preserve its beauty, structure, and soul, we recommend:

- Gentle hand wash in cold water with mild detergent

- Do not bleach, tumble dry, or wring

- To retain color and shape, air dry flat, away from direct sunlight

- If ironing, use low heat with a protective cloth

- Avoid direct heat on embroidery, artwork, or embellishments

- Store in the NOVI dust bag when not in use to maintain its form and finish

These garments carry philosophy, craftsmanship, and story, wear them freely, but care for them deeply.

The Story

They say heaven is not above us but within reach of those who walk with grace. This garment carries that truth. Across its cotton canvas, more than fifty hours of hand kantha embroidery unfold. At the heart glows the gate of heaven, stitched in yellow, a colour of light, clarity, and awakening. It does not shout, it shines. Quiet, steady, certain. The shirt moves with a strength that does not need to be declared. Its craft whispers divinity, its presence invites reflection. This is no simple attire. It is a reminder that heaven is not granted. It is created, thread by thread, act by act.
