Anger is often feared as destruction, but it is also a force of transformation. From Draupadi’s first injustice to the restoration of dharma, anger moved through trigger, escalation, explosion, and recovery, altering the fate of an entire world. Crafted in hand kantha embroidery, each colour represents one stage of this journey, capturing how anger rises, breaks imbalance, and ultimately gives way to renewal. It ends what cannot continue—so something truer can begin.

When I began shaping this piece, I kept returning to Draupadi. Not the Draupadi who was silenced or humiliated, but the Draupadi whose rage lit up the darkness of injustice.

Her anger was not weakness. It was clarity. It was the refusal to bow to a world that had already taken too much.

We are often told anger is a bad thing, something to hide or suppress. But I have come to see it differently. Sometimes anger is a compass. Sometimes it is the body’s way of saying enough. It is not always destruction. It can also be dignity.

This piece is my attempt to hold that truth. Anger that protects. Anger that speaks.

Anger that refuses to let cruelty go unanswered. Anger that reminds us we are alive and that we will not be erased.

For me, anger is not just a fire that burns things down. It can also be a flame that lights the path forward.

- Avoid direct heat on embroidery, artwork, or embellishments

- Store in the NOVI dust bag when not in use to maintain its form and finish
